Popular cleric, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has responded to actress Halima Abubakar’s public apology, emphasizing that forgiving someone does not mean forgetting the wrongs they have done.

Apostle Suleman took to social media platform, X, where he posted: “Forgiveness is not memory loss! Status quo maintained! AJS,” urging people to stop calling him regarding the situation.

Halima Abubakar had previously made false accusations against Apostle Suleman, which she admitted to in a heartfelt apology letter dated October 5, 2024. She expressed deep regret for her actions, acknowledging the harm they caused to Suleman, his family, and his ministry.

In her letter, Abubakar wrote: “I am writing to you today to acknowledge the falsehoods I made against you on social media and to offer my sincerest apologies.” She further added, “I admit that I made false allegations against you and also regret my actions and the damage I caused to you, your wife, Dr. Mrs. Lizzy Suleman, your family, and the Leaders of the Omega Fire Ministry.”

Abubakar pleaded for forgiveness, stating, “I humbly ask for your forgiveness, recognizing that my apology cannot undo the harm, pains, and distress I caused… Sir, you have done a lot for humanity, please, extend your hands of forgiveness toward me.”
