Youngster, Phil Foden, netted a brace at the Amex Stadium on Saturday night as Manchester City sealed a 4-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Pep Guardiola’s side ran riot in the first half as Graham Potters’ side watch the defending champions slot in three goals beyond Robert Sánchez.

İlkay Gündoğan gave City the lead after 13 minutes before Phil Foden doubled the lead 15 minutes after.

Gabriel Jesus’s strike deflected of Foden for City’s third but the Englishman takes the credit for the 31st-minute goal to keep the visitors in the driving seat.

Potters side rose to the challenge in the second half with an improved display but only managed a consolation through an Alexis Mac Allister penalty in the 81st minute.

Foden had a chance to score a hattrick but his attempt was stopped by the confident Sánchez.

Riyad Mahrez who came in as a second-half substitute netted a stoppage-time goal (90+5′) to give City a comfortable 4-1 away win.

City move two points behind league-leaders, Chelsea, ahead of Liverpool and Manchester United’s clash at Old Trafford on Sunday.
