The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has invited the wrath of Nigerians on himself after he was quoted to have said that President Muhammadu Buhari did not know about the absence of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, in Benue State, because he is “not omniscient.”
The presidential aide made the declaration on Tuesday during an interview on a RayPower FM public affairs programme, “Political Platform.”
Recall that President Buhari during his meeting with farmers, herdsmen, government officials and other stakeholders in Makurdi, said that he was surprised that the IGP, did not stay 24 hours in Benue State after he ordered him to relocate to there and remain till peace was restored.
Buhari while denying insinuations that he was not interested in what was happening in Benue, said, “I am getting to know this in this meeting. I am quite surprised.”
Adesina in his response to the president’s statement disclosed that Buhari has other channels of information but does not receive all information.
He said,
“It just tells you that the president is not omniscient. As president and commander-in-chief, he has other channels, but it doesn’t mean that he gets every information under the sun.”
The presidential spokesman said that it was also a wrong notion for Nigerians to anticipate that whenever it comes to security matters, the president is to be adequately kept abreast of development and must be in the know.
He said,
“It is not correct, even in the best countries in the world, the super powers; there still would be security breaches and failures. It is not correct.”
When Adesina was asked why there were still killings in Plateau State even when the president visited, he said that the lessons to be learnt from such incidents are that security is a collective responsibility.
Adesina said,
“The message it (the killings) sent is that security is a collective responsibility; it is not the responsibility of the president alone. What Nigerians expect is that everything will flow from the top which is not correct. It rather should even flow from the bottom up. What Nigerians expect is that the president would be like a knight in shining armour who comes to settle all security issues even in wards and villages and hamlets. No, it doesn’t work that way.”
Femi Adesina just said under GEJ 230 girls were kidnapped but under Buhari “JUST” 110 girls were kidnapped…
Insensitive inhumane Bigot that sees 110 girls Kidnapped as “JUST”…. No value for Human Life

“The I-G of Police can disobey President Buhari depending on the situation because he is answerable to the Police Service Commission”- Femi Adesina, Channels TV.
It is clear that, like Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Femi Adesina has lost his mind.

Femi Adesina is comparing the failure of Buhari’s administration with the failure of GEJ administration.
If Femi Adesina’s daughter was part of the 110 girls, will he use the word JUST?
Femi Adesina is self-centered. Find solution and stop comparing your failure to GEJ’s

Femi Adesina has lost his soul! He believes his President acts swift and is a man of integrity. My question is, how then did he allow 300+ die in Agatu, 73 die in Guma and Logo, 27 to die in Okpokwu? All in one state!? Where is swiftness and integrity in that @FemAdesina ???

PMB is surrounded by bunch of useless idiots, being paid for nothing! I once saw a tweet can’t remembered from who thou, asking Ma’am @KadariaAhmed to help teach Garba Shehu & Femi Adesina how to do their jobs properly. Change begins with PMB & his Cabinets!

According to Femi Adesina, IGP Idris was absent at Buhari’s Benue townhall meeting yesterday because he is out of the country.
Should your boss send you on an errand to Ikorodu and you instead go to Ikoyi. You’d have lost your job already.

Femi Adesina is one of the few Nigerians I thought will resign from any docile government! The rate at which he now package lies to cover up the incompetence of this administration is alarming!
Nigerian Guild of Editors must be ashamed of one of their own right now!

The Great Oracle, Buhari usually hacks down half his own reputation with a cutlass. Femi Adesina helps him out by hacking down the other half with an axe. Buhari and Femi Adesina are what we call “odo gb’odo pon” in Yoruba.

How will the spokesman of the president say “under Buhari, JUST 110 girls were abducted” how does that justify anything or make the president look better than the former… with due respect, Femi Adesina should stick to writing pic.twitter.com/mz5PQzM4xO
