It is already five years after one of the most talented actors in the Nigerian movie industry, Sam Loco Efe died. 

The ace actor died on a Sunday morning in a hotel room from a condition suspected to be Asthma. He died while editing an untitled script on August 7, 2011.

Sam Loco Efeeimwonkiyeke was 66 year. You probably didn’t know his last name was that long. Did you?

Here are five other things you didn’t know about the late comedian per excellence.

1. Efeeimwonkiyeke is an Edo name meaning wealth has no time limit and the actor inherited the name from his father because he the last child of his parents and the only male child.

2. Sam Loco’s basic education was partly sponsored with scholarships he earned playing football, and street trading.

3. Sam Loco served on Biafra’s military during the civil war in Nigeria until 1968 when he returned to his hometown in Benin.

4. His first independent attempt at theatre performance was Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. He both directed and acted the lead role in the performance at an arts festival in Abakaliki. His group came last in the contest.

5. He had six children from three wives. His first wife died in 1985.
