Five Ogun men arraigned for stealing Milo beverage worth N25m

Five men have appeared before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State for allegedly stealing a truckload of Milo products worth N25 million.

The accused are Temidire Ramon (35), Aminu Yusuf (26), Olusola Opadare (35), Oludayo Adeleye (38), and Amodu Jimoh (51). They face charges of stealing and conspiracy.

Inspector E.O. Adaraloye, the prosecutor, informed the court that the incident occurred on October 13, 2020, in Agbara, Ogun State. He alleged that the men conspired to steal the Milo products belonging to Nestle Company.

The prosecutor explained that the acts violated Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State, 2006.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Magistrate O.A. Onagoruwa granted the accused bail of N500,000 each, requiring two sureties in the same amount. He stated that the sureties must be gainfully employed, reside within the court’s jurisdiction, and provide evidence of tax payment to the Ogun State Government.

The case has been adjourned until December 12 for a hearing.
