Nigeria COVID-19 recovery deaths cases discharges NCDC



The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Wednesday announced five new fatalities as the number of COVID-19 related deaths stands at 1,993.

This is just as the country recorded 394 new infections of the deadly disease, the NCDC revealed in the early hours of Thursday.

The agency disclosed that the death toll is seven fatalities away from the 2000 mark while the total number of infection stands at 159,646 cases.

It also explained that the 394 new cases were recorded in 18 states including the epicentre, Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as well as Bauchi State which recorded the highest number of cases on Wednesday.

“On the 10th of March 2021, 394 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

“Till date, 159,646 cases have been confirmed, 139,983 cases have been discharged and 1,993 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 394 new cases are reported from 18 states- Bauchi (75), Lagos (36), Akwa Ibom (33), FCT (32), Nasarawa (29), Kaduna (26), Rivers (25), Ogun (22), Oyo (21), Edo (20), Taraba (18), Imo (17), Ondo (17), Borno (8), Plateau (7), Zamfara (4), Osun (3), and Kano (1).

“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre, activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities,” the agency’s situation report stated.
