A young man and four of his friends have passed away after reportedly eating a poisoned pepper soup said to have been prepared by the man’s ex-girlfriend.
The incident happened on Saturday, October 26, in Auchi, Edo State, according to reports.
A microblogging site user, tweeting from @Khanstillday on X, who posted the video, claimed the man’s ex-girlfriend, identified only as Peculiar, allegedly gave him the pepper soup laced with poison, supposedly to get back at him for ending their relationship.
Unfortunately, he shared the meal with four of his friends, who also fell victim to the poison.
The post stated, “A girl attempted to poison her boyfriend by putting poison in pepper soup, but four of his friends ended up eating it with him. Tragically, all five have now passed away.”
A viral video circulating online shows the bodies of the five men with police officers at the scene.
Peculiar, the woman involved, has reportedly been arrested and is now in police custody as investigations continue.
