Five Ebenezer Obey songs that would get your parents smiling
One of Nigeria’s pioneer recording artists and popular juju musician, Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey clocked a milestone age of 75 on Monday.
Known for his percussion rich and guitar spiced genre of juju music, Obey has released hundreds of hit tracks that have remained evergreen among Nigerians, especially Yoruba socialites.
After several years of rocking the Nigerian social circles dance floor, the 75-year-old who used to weave popular Yoruba aphorisms into amazingly catchy tunes, retired into Nigerian gospel music ministry in the 1990s.
Some of his evergreen compositions are so popular that, many Nigerians, no matter their age, would naturally sing (or hum) along when and wherever they hear the tune.
Here are five of such songs.
1. The Horse, The man, and His Son
2. Aimoasiko
3. Eni Ri Nkan He
4. What God Has Joined Together
5. Board Members
