The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has apprehended five individuals and seized a significant haul of 5,500 litres of Automotive Gas Oil in Oguta, Imo State.
The operation, executed by the NSCDC Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad, aimed to curb the illegal transportation of suspected refined AGO.
Confirming the success of the operation, the NSCDC shared details and images on its official Facebook page on Saturday.
The display included containers holding the confiscated diesel and four saloon cars that were impounded during the operation.
In an official statement, the NSCDC outlined the specifics of the operation, stating, “The Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad arrested five suspects, impounded four saloon cars, and confiscated about 5,500 litres of suspected illegally refined AGO being transported to Onitsha from Obah Agwa autonomous community Oguta, Imo State.”
