The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was on Tuesday conferred with a chieftaincy title in Enugu State, recognizing her contributions to women’s empowerment.
She was bestowed with the title of Ugosimba 1 of Enugu State (Jewel of Women Empowerment).
The announcement was made by Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on New Media.
The conferment ceremony drew the presence of prominent figures in the state, including Governor Peter Mbah and a host of traditional leaders.
This recognition comes just weeks after her husband, President Bola Tinubu, received the title of Dike Si N’mba 1 of Anambra State.
Senator Tinubu was in Enugu on a working visit tied to the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration.
As part of her engagement, she oversaw the distribution of professional kits and equipment to midwives across the state.
According to the Office of the First Lady, this initiative is aligned with the federal government’s broader commitment to improving healthcare services and enhancing the well-being of women throughout the country.
