A fire outbreak has been reported at the well-known 10-storey Mandilas building located on Broad Street in the Lagos Island Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The incident was confirmed by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service through its official X-handle (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday.
The fire, which originated on the first floor of the Mandilas building, has escalated to the fourth floor as per the latest report.
Emergency responders from the Ebute Elefun and Sari Iganmu Fire Stations are currently on the scene, working tirelessly to prevent further escalation and bring the situation under control.
While the source and cause of the fire are yet to be made public, firefighters are actively engaged in battling the blaze.
The fire outbreak, which started early afternoon on Sunday, has reportedly caused significant damage to properties, amounting to millions of naira.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency provided an update, stating, “A warehouse in a ten-story building is on fire. The fire originated on the first floor and has now reached the fourth floor.”
The agencies assured the public that their teams from Ebute Elefun and Sari Iganmu Fire Stations are on the scene, working to contain the situation.
