The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the results of 1,502,978 candidates that sat for the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
This was made known in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by the Head of Media, Fabian Benjamin.
The examination body released the results after viewing all CCTV footage during the conduct of the nation wide examination that took place on March 9 and ended on March 19.
The board said the results were released after considering reports from its supervisors that invigilated the exams.
According to the statement, a total of 1,652,825 candidates registered for the 2018 examination, but the results of 112,331 candidates are yet to be released.
The statement reads in parts,
“Out of the number yet to be released, 350 are results of blind candidates which would be released soon, while 111,981 results were being withheld for further screening.”
The board explained that the figure excluded foreign candidates whose examination was scheduled for April this year.
The exam body had initially hinted that unlike the 2017 exercise, this year’s results would not be immediately released because they would have to be thoroughly vetted before releasing them in other to avoid multiple cancellations afterwards.
