A man has reportedly killed himself and his two children because his wife masturbates too much.
According to reports, which appeared on social media and in Zambian media, Joe Tembo and his two children had lodged at an inn in Matero Township in Matero Township.
However, when workers at the inn noticed they weren’t coming out of their rooms after almost a day, they knocked on their room but got no response. One of the workers was said to have peeped through the keyhole and saw Tembo gasping.
Before killing his kids, Tembo was said to have taken pictures of the children and sent them to his wife who he complained that was masturbating a lot and deprived him of sexual pleasures.
According to reports, the two have been married for 8 years but his wife only wanted masturbation instead of sex with his husband.
The wife was never home as she was reportedly sleeping with unknown people.
Assistant Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi, said,
“It was at this point that they reported the matter to Matero Police Station. Upon arrival, police officers entered the room and found that the children were dead
He said the father was found gasping and was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
In the room, Police officers found three empty bottles of pesticide, torn documents and two cell phones submerged in water.
Mr Chilabi said from the initial findings so far, police suspect that the man administered some toxic pesticides on the children and later committed suicide.
However, further investigation has been instituted.
The deceased have been identified by relatives as Joe Tembo aged 30 and his children Fernando a boy aged 3 and Shamie a girl aged 6 residents of Emmasdale in Lusaka. Mr Chilabi said the bodies of the deceased are lying in the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
