The winner of this year’s FIFA Club World Cup in the United States will receive up to $125 million, FIFA President Gianni Infantino has announced.

The tournament, which will feature 32 teams, is scheduled to take place from June 14 to July 13, 2025. The total prize money for the competition has been set at $1 billion.

FIFA has outlined how the money will be distributed among the participating clubs:

  • $525 million will be shared equally among all 32 teams as participation fees.
  • $475 million will be awarded based on performance in the competition.
  • The winning team, after playing seven matches, could earn a total of $125 million, including bonuses.

Infantino described the payment model as “the biggest prize money ever awarded to a competition with a group stage and a knockout phase.”

European clubs will receive the highest payments, with amounts ranging from $12.81 million to $38.19 million, based on sporting and commercial factors.

Other regions will receive the following:

  • South American teams – $15.21 million each.
  • North and Central American, Caribbean, Asian, and African teams – $9.55 million each.
  • Auckland City (Oceania’s only representative) – $3.58 million.

In addition to the prize money, FIFA has announced a solidarity programme worth $250 million, which will be used to support football development worldwide.

Infantino stated, “All revenue from the tournament will be used to support club football.”

The expanded Club World Cup is set to attract some of the biggest teams in global football, with clubs from different continents competing for a historic prize.
