FG, World Bank partner, train 600 Gombe youths

No fewer than 600 youths, including persons with disabilities, have commenced a six-month training program on computer literacy and solar installation, aimed at boosting self-reliance.

The training, valued at N125 million, is part of the Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills project, a collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Education and the World Bank.

The Innovation Grant Manager of IDEAS Usman Tela,explained, “The training is designed for three months, followed by an additional three months of internship, mentorship, and pitching.”

Project Lead of Hope Foundation for the Disabled, Dr. Ishaku Adamu,added that the training will be conducted in two batches, with 300 participants in each, to accommodate growing interest. “We plan to train 600 participants, but due to high demand, we may extend it to 700.”
