The Federal Government has issued fresh requirements for civil servants seeking to migrate their salaries, change their names, or update their next-of-kin records.
This was contained in a memo from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, dated March 12, 2025, and addressed to all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
According to the memo, the government observed that many civil servants fail to submit the necessary documents required to effect such changes, leading to delays in approvals.
“Further to the Circular Ref. HCSF/PS/CMO/IPPIS/I/VOL.I/508 dated 1st November 2022 on the above subject, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has observed that some Ministries, Departments, and Agencies do not attach the required documents which would facilitate granting approvals for migration of salary, change/correction of names, gender, and next-of-kin within the shortest possible time,” the memo stated.
The directive emphasized that MDAs must strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedures for processing such requests on the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System platform.
With the ongoing implementation of the Human Resource component of IPPIS in the Federal Public Service, the government urged all MDAs to ensure compliance with the updated guidelines.
The memo further warned that any request submitted without the necessary supporting documents would not be processed for approval. MDAs were also instructed to communicate the directive to all concerned staff for strict adherence.
