The Federal Government is poised to unveil a comprehensive blueprint for the nationwide rollout of the Digital Switch Over project.
Information Minister Mohammed Idris made this announcement during the Management Conference and Retreat of the Nigerian Television Authority in Abuja on Monday.
Idris reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to the DSO project, emphasizing its significance in transforming the nation’s broadcasting landscape.
He assured stakeholders that the upcoming blueprint will be meticulously crafted to ensure a seamless and successful rollout across urban and rural areas.
“The Ministry of Information and National Orientation is working assiduously for a DSO blueprint that will not fail; that will roll out across urban and rural Nigeria,” he stated.
Underscoring the NTA’s crucial role in the DSO initiative, Idris challenged the national broadcaster to adapt to the evolving media landscape, driven by technological advancements and shifting audience preferences.
He urged the NTA to embrace innovation while maintaining the highest standards of journalistic integrity.
“The NTA must continue to evolve, embracing innovation while upholding the highest standards of journalistic integrity,” he said.
