Vice President Kashim Shettima has given the directive to kickstart the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises program before the end of November.

Shettima emphasized the government’s commitment to creating millions of jobs in the technology sector and noted that the administration had planned to launch the $617.7 million i-DICE Investment program in November 2023.

During a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where the i-DICE team provided an update on their progress, Shettima stressed the importance of the initiative in achieving the government’s goals for digital job creation and delivering on promises to Nigerians.

He urged all partners involved in the i-DICE program to ensure the funds are used judiciously.

Shettima stated, “The peculiarity of the challenges we face in the country demands that we have to create jobs for our teeming youths to address the crises associated with youth unemployment.”

He also called for inclusivity in the program’s coverage, emphasizing the potential positive impact of the $617.7 million scheme.

The Vice President assured the technical committee, program personnel, and international partners of the government’s full support in realizing the i-DICE program’s objectives.

Shettima reaffirmed the administration’s commitment, saying, “We mean business; my boss, President Bola Tinubu, is passionate about the transformation of this country.”
