FG proclaims April 7 as national police day
The Federal Government of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, has officially declared April 7 as National Police Day.
Vice President Shettima made this announcement on Monday night in Abuja during the inaugural award and commendation ceremony organized by the police force.
Delivering the President’s speech titled “Courage Under Fire: A Bouquet for Our Police Force,” VP Shettima emphasized the resilience of Nigeria’s citizens in the face of significant security challenges, attributing it to the unwavering dedication of the police force.
He reiterated the administration’s strong commitment to modernizing and professionalizing the Nigeria Police Force, aligning it with the nation’s values and aspirations.
As part of extensive reforms, investments have been made in training and capacity-building to equip officers with the necessary skills to effectively address contemporary policing challenges.
Shettima further pledged government support in upgrading equipment and technology to enhance the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the force.
