The Federal Government has suspended the recruitment process into paramilitary agencies under the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board.
The Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. AM Jibril (retd.), confirmed the suspension in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja. He said the recruitment portal was temporarily closed to improve the system and manage the large number of applications.
Jibril explained that the portal will reopen on Monday, July 21, 2025. He said this decision was made to ensure a smooth and fair process.
“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process,” the statement read.
Jibril thanked Nigerians for showing interest in the recruitment exercise and assured them that the process will be fair.
“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies. We remain committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process,” he said.
The agencies affected include the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigerian Correctional Service.
The board advised applicants to keep checking the portal and submit their applications once it reopens on July 21. The exercise, which started on June 30, has already received thousands of applications.
