FG declares Monday public holiday for Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration

The Federal Government has declared Monday, September 16, 2024, a public holiday to celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlid, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this announcement on behalf of the government in a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on Friday.

While congratulating the Muslim community on this special occasion, the minister encouraged them to use the time to pray for lasting peace and prosperity in the nation.

He also urged all Nigerians to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience.
