The Federal Ministry of Education has approved the promotion and confirmation of 47 senior staff members of the National Board for Technical Education.

The Board’s Head of Media, Fatimah Abubakar, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, revealing that the decision was communicated via a letter dated March 13, 2025, and signed by the Ministry’s Director of Human Resources, Omotayo F. Adeyemi.

According to the statement, the approval aims to ensure continued institutional growth and operational efficiency, despite the absence of the NBTE Governing Board since March 2021.

Among those promoted are nine Acting Directors who were confirmed as substantive Directors after passing written examinations and a formal oral interview.

The statement also expressed optimism that the Federal Government would soon establish a new Governing Board for the NBTE.

“We are hopeful that President Bola Tinubu will set up a new Governing Board for the NBTE this year. This will enable the Board to function optimally and deliver on its mandate,” it read.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to fostering excellence in leadership and maintaining proper structures for effective policy implementation.
