Nigerian singer and actress, Aituaje Iruobe, known professionally as Waje, has spoken on the real meaning of feminism, stating that it’s not manhating.

She made the statement after a viral video showed a lady in tears saying that her friend who introduced feminism to her recently got married.

Reacting to her video, Waje said; “Feminism is not manhating. For those who can’t google let me help

“It’s about respecting diverse women’s experiences, identities, knowledge and strengths, and striving to empower all women to realise their full rights.

“It’s about levelling the playing field between genders, and ensuring that diverse women and girls have the same opportunities in life available to men and boys.

“So many feminists are married to amazing men

In response to her statement, a supposed fan @topstar_01 still maintained that all man haters are feminist.

“All man haters are feminist,” the fan said.

Waje again responded saying, “No, man haters are called misandrist but you people will not study to show yourselves approved.

“Everybody must have an opinion, uninformed or otherwise.

Responding to Waje, @saviourxclusive, who is a male said; “I’m yet to see a happy feminist. Those who marry make their husbands’ and their own lives a living hell.

Retorting icily to his words, the ‘Kpolongo’ singer said “I’m assuming they all come and mark register with you, so you are keeping tabs. Well done bruv, good job”
