Fayose warns PDP against expelling Wike

Published

Ayodele Fayose, a former Governor of Ekiti State, has warned the Peoples Democratic Party against expelling Nyesom Wike despite his alleged anti-party activities.

Wike, a PDP chieftain, worked against the party in the 2023 presidential election and has since been appointed President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet member.

In an interview on Channels Television’s Hard Copy, Fayose cautioned the PDP against going after the former Rivers State governor, describing him as a force in the PDP and beyond.

Ignore Wike, sack Wike, or fight Wike at your own peril. He is a man of capacity,”

Wike is a force in the PDP and beyond PDP, a force you cannot ignore”. he said.

Fayose emphasized the need for the PDP to unite its members and work towards restoring the party, which came second in this year’s presidential election.

He also reiterated his stance on the need for the southern part of Nigeria to produce the president and expressed his opposition to leaving the main opposition party.

Fayose also denied reports that he had resigned from the PDP.

The moment I am not in the PDP, I would never join another political,” he said. “And I would never be a member of the APC – not whether they are good or bad.”
