A Nigerian woman living in Saudi Arabia is in mourning after her Saudi Arabian husband murdered their three daughters.

The woman, Fatima Mohamid Khalil, met her murderer husband some seven years ago when she received a call from an unknown number. She added that the man told her he wanted to marry her but refused to how she got her number.

Weeks later, the man showed up at their home, met with her auntie’s husband and a marriage pact was finalised.

She moved in with the man at Al-Malawi District in Makkah after he had paid SR12,000 as dowry.

Fatima said the marriage contract was conducted by a marriage official at a mosque in Al-Mansour District, adding that three years later the official died.

She said nobody from his family attended the marriage and when she asked him why he told her that they were living far away and it was not easy for them to come.

Fatima said a year after the marriage she was blessed with her first daughter who brought joy and happiness to her life.

She said her life with him was far from quiet as he turned out to be a drug addict who used to stay awake for five nights and would then sleep for three days.

He used to spend between four to five hours in the bathroom, she said.

Fatima said their marriage was not regular according to the Kingdom’s laws but the husband promised to complete the procedures later.

Fatima said,

He did not fulfill his promise. He never added his three daughters in the family registry but he did issue me with an iqama.

The wife said her husband documented their marriage in a paper issued by the Makkah police who asked him to refer to the concerned authorities to complete the marriage procedures but he did not.

He used to spend long hours talking to girls on the telephone alleging that they were his friends, she said.

She said her husband, a retired security guard, used to complain a lot about his poverty, hated his life and always wished he had died.

When I asked him to resort to Almighty Allah by supplication and prayer to help us come out of the miserable life, he would give cynical answers and continue his complaints, she said.

The woman recalled that a week before the catastrophe, he brought his daughters together, showed them a knife and threatened to slaughter them one after the other.

When I asked him why he did this, he said he was not serious but only joking with the daughters, she said.
