A fatal road accident on Monday claimed three lives and left four others injured in the Eliozu area of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State.
The incident occurred along the East-West Road, near the back of Bori Camp, when a mini-bus reportedly en route to the Rumuokoro axis collided with a trailer.
Eyewitnesses at the scene attributed the accident to brake failure, which allegedly led to the deadly collision between the two vehicles.
Although some witnesses reported that five individuals, including three students from the University of Port Harcourt, died in the crash, the Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed three fatalities.
