Super Eagles captain to their first ever FIFA World Cup, USA ’94, Peter Rufai, also known among his colleagues as Dodo Manyana is 54 today.
The goalkeeper who won 65 caps for the country before retiring from international football in 1998 after his second world cup with the team, was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the African Cup Of Nation in Tunisia in 1994.
While he was playing his club football in Deportivo Coruña, Rufai was called on to become king in Idimu Lagos where he was born after his father (who was the king) died. He turned the offer down to continue his football career.
Here are some of the messages for the former Nigerian international.
