Fani-Kayode slams minister for disrespecting Gov. Matawalle over Zamfara gold
Nigerian politician, Femi Fani-Kayode has blasted the Minister for Mineral Resources, Olamilekan Adegbite for disrespecting Governor Bello Matawalle over Zamfara gold and mineral resources.
Adegbite issued the warning on Friday to the governor that the mineral products remain exclusively that of the federal government.
FFK took to Twitter to Matawalle’s defence, adding that the minister was ungrateful to the governor for his efforts in the state.
“@GovMatawalle never misled anyone or claimed sole ownership of the gold & mineral resources of Zamfara state. The Minister for Mineral Resources was being disrespectful to the Governor & to the people of Zamfara for giving that impression. He was also behaving like an ingrate.
“Had it not been for the efforts of Matawalle would anyone other than the criminals & bandits that held sway in Zamfara before he came to power just over one year ago have had access to the gold & mineral resources?
“@MBuhari supported the Gov. & was v helpful to him in this respect but the Hon. Min. should be a little more generous & circumspect in his choice of words, learn some manners & give credit to whom it is due. Had it not been for Matawalle, Zamfara would still be in chaos today & thousands more people would have been killed.
“He restored law &order in the state & brought hope & good fortune.I have travelled to most parts of the state & I know it well. I am proud of his efforts. He ought to be encouraged ¬ lectured, pilloried, denigrated or misrepresented by a cantankerous & overzealous Minister.”
