The abducted Emir of Bungudu in Zamfara State, Sarkin Fulani Alh Hassan Attahiru, has not been released by his abductors, a family member said.
Reports earlier on Friday suggested that the traditional ruler was released on Thursday night, a month after he was abducted on September 14, 2021 along Kaduna-Abuja express road.
Tribune, quoting one Ibrahim Bello Maraf, who spoke for the family reports that the monarch is still with his captors.
Maraf further warned people to desist from spreading such untrue information.
However, he said, efforts to release the traditional ruler are in progress and that he is hopeful the enir will be released soon.
