Family confirms death of diploma holder who jumped into Lagos lagoon

The family of Lekan Odunare, a National Diploma certificate holder who committed suicide in the Epe area of Lagos State, has confirmed his death.

Recall that Odunare’s body has gone missing since he attempted to take his life on Tuesday morning when he jumped into the Lagoon.

However, after two days of searching, his lifeless body was found on Thursday, according to The PUNCH who quoted a grieving family member of the victim who craved anonymity.

Odunare’s last moment was filmed by an unknown individual who could be heard asking why the downcast individual wanted to take his life before plunging into the Lagoon.

Although the victim did not give an answer, questions have however been asked of the man behind the camera as social media users asked why he made no effort to save Odunare.

Meanwhile, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, an official of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, as well as the General Manager of the Lagos State Waterways Authority, Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, no information on the matter when contacted.
