The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has announced that beginning September 29, 2025, all payments at its revenue points will be cashless.
This includes airport access gates, car parks, and VIP and protocol lounges.
In a statement on Friday, FAAN said the initiative was introduced to modernise airport operations, promote transparency, and align with global digital standards.
The agency explained that passengers can obtain a FAAN Go Cashless Card at access gates in Lagos and Abuja.
“FAAN, in partnership with Paystack, is proud to announce the roll-out of Operation Go Cashless, a contactless payment solution across all airports beginning with Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja,” the statement read.
FAAN added that cash payments will be gradually phased out, stressing that the new system will provide faster, more secure, and seamless services to travellers and airport users.
“To ease the transition, trained brand ambassadors have been deployed at access gates and around the terminals to guide users, assist with onboarding, provide demonstrations, and answer questions they may have,” it said.
