27 year old, Jack Heslewood, was crowned the new Mr World 2019, beating 71 candidates for the title during the pageant finals held at Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, the Philippines on Friday, August 23.
Heslewood from England succeeded Rohit Khandelwal from India who completed his reign of three years.
He is a talented drummer and a former rocket scientist for Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group at the Cambridge International Airport in Cambridgeshire, England.
The top five runner-ups up were Fezile Mkhize, 28, from South Africa’s, Brian Faugier, 25, was 2nd runner-up, Carlos Franco, 27, of Brazil, 3rd runner up and Alejandro Martinez, 26, of Dominican Republic.
The excited Mr World took to his IG page to thank his supporters saying the coming year ahead is going to be very interesting.
“I couldn’t be prouder this very moment. I’m proud of everyone who has supported me in this journey to reach this incredible milestone in my journey of life.
“There’s no experience like this, being surrounded by 71 other people who are all so inspirational and with such impressive talents and achievements that every conversation is enlightening.
“My year ahead is going to be very interesting and I will keep you in the loop of what’s ahead and what I’m working on. For day one of being Mr World, I’m saying my goodbyes to some of my international friends who are leaving today and thanking my supporters back home in England.
“Manila, thank you for making me feel so at home and thank you to Julia Morley and the MW Organisation for choosing me to be your Mr World – I am deeply humbled,” Mr World wrote.
Mr World is a biennial event and is the male counterpart of the Miss World competition. Like Miss World, the Mr World titleholder travels around the world as an ambassador of the organization and takes part in various charity events.
At the age 21, Heslewood earned his degree in Aerospace Engineer from Kingston University in Kingston upon Thames, London, England.
