What ex-President Goodluck Jonathan wants Dream Team VI to do against Honduras

Barely hours after Nigeria’s U-23 football team, fondly called the Dream Team VI, were beaten on Wednesday night by Germany at the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympics, ex-President Goodluck Jonathan commended the team.

The coach Samson Siasia team lost to Germany 2-0 in the semi-final of the Olympic football event, thereby missing out on the gold medal match against Brazil.

The former president took to his Twitter handle to applaud the team and urged them to bounce back in their match against Honduras on Saturday, August 20.

He tweeted: “The Dream Team gave it their best. A commendable performance. All is not lost. I look forward to a resurgence against Honduras on Saturday.”

 

The former President also commended the Dream Team VI when they defeated Denmark in the quarter final, tweeting, “I am so proud of our Dream Team whose victory over Denmark has pushed them through to the medal rounds. ‪#‎ProudlyNaija‬. GEJ.”

The message got over 240 re-tweets and 140 favourites withing couple of hours.
