Former Nigeria U20 international Samson Lawal has officially left Livingston after the Scottish club announced the departure of several players ahead of the summer transfer window.

Livingston endured a difficult campaign in the Scottish Premiership and suffered relegation after spending just one season in the top flight.

Lawal arrived at the club in August 2023 on a three-year contract scheduled to run until the end of the 2025–26 campaign.

The midfielder completed his move to Scotland shortly after representing Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina.

He featured in all of the Flying Eagles’ matches and played a key role as the team progressed to the quarterfinal stage.

Despite his promise, the 22-year-old struggled to secure regular game time during his stay with the Lions.

Across three seasons, Lawal managed only eleven starts in all competitions before his exit from the club.

In a bid for more playing time, he joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle on loan in March 2024 and made thirteen appearances during the spell.

Before heading overseas, Lawal was also a member of the Flying Eagles squad that won bronze at the 2023 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
