Former Rivers South-East lawmaker Senator Magnus Abe, has identified the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as the leader of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, stressing the need for cohesion within the party ahead of the Ahoada East Constituency II and Khana Constituency II by-elections fixed for February 21.
He made the declaration on Monday while addressing journalists after candidates aligned with the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, secured victory in the APC primaries.
Abe said: “As far as Rivers State is concerned, the Minister of the FCT is the leader of the APC here.
“There is no confusion, and there is no dispute about the different roles people are playing.
“I want to say to Rivers people: everybody should go and revalidate your membership.
““We are all working together, supporting President Tinubu, and Rivers State will deliver the highest percentage of votes for the Renewed Hope family in this country.
“That is our commitment.”
Recall that aspirants loyal to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, won the APC primaries conducted on Monday.
The primaries were held to choose candidates for the forthcoming by-elections to fill vacant positions in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
