The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has denied reports that former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, David Parradang, was kidnapped and killed by gunmen in Abuja.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, the police confirmed that Parradang was found dead in his hotel room at a hotel in Area 3 Junction, Abuja, under circumstances that are still being investigated.

According to the police, Parradang checked into the hotel around noon on March 3, 2025, after paying N22,000 for a one-night stay. Not long after, he received a female visitor whom he instructed the hotel staff to escort to his room. The woman reportedly left the hotel around 4 pm.

The statement further explained that Parradang remained in his room throughout the night. However, at about 4 am the following day, a concerned friend, who is a military officer, went to the hotel to check on him.

“Upon arrival, the officer, along with the hotel staff, found Parradang unresponsive, seated in a chair. Authorities from Durumi Police Station were immediately called, and they secured the scene and gathered evidence,” the police statement read.

His body was taken to the National Hospital for further examination to determine the cause of death.

The police confirmed that the hotel staff are cooperating with investigators, and efforts are ongoing to locate and question the female guest who visited him.

Josephine Adeh urged the public to disregard any false information about Parradang being shot by gunmen.

“We want to clarify that David Parradang was not killed by gunmen as some reports have claimed. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the exact cause of death,” she stated.

The police assured the public that updates would be provided as the investigation progresses.
