Former Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

Uduaghan made his return to the APC on Wednesday at his residence in the Government Reserved Area of Warri.

He was received into the party by Delta South APC Women Leader, Alero Tenumah, Abigborodo Ward 6 Chairman, George Ino, and other local party officials.

The former governor, whose APC membership card bears the identification ‘Delta WRN//023/32001’, expressed appreciation to the party leaders for their warm reception and solidarity.

He commended their dedication and pledged to collaborate with them toward advancing Delta State’s development.

He also assured the APC of his readiness to foster unity and contribute meaningfully to the party’s growth and the progress of the state.

According to reports, Uduaghan’s daughter, Orode Uduaghan, who currently serves as the Delta State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Child Development, also joined the APC. She received her membership card from leaders of the party’s Abigborodo Ward.

During the event, Alero Tenumah called on all new members to actively support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as well as the policies of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. She assured Uduaghan and other defectors of the party’s full support and cooperation going forward.

Uduaghan’s return to the APC comes after PDP South-South Chairman, Emma Ogidi, previously stated that defectors in Delta would ultimately return to the PDP, referencing the former governor as an example.
