Reports coming in from Cross River State, indicates that one Ejike, a trader in Bedwell was shot dead by arm gangsters at a gully site along the Calabar-Ikom Highway in Biase.
It was reported that Ejike, who was the person collecting money from residents to carryout palliative work on the gully last year, was killed after he was robbed at a gunpoint by the armed hoodlums.
This was made known in the pictures shared by one Ifere, who disclosed that the gully contributed to insecurity in the area as hoodlums were using it as their escape route from police arrest.
Meanwhile, the state’s Commissioner of Environment; Hon Mike Eraye, has been urged to fix the gully site to avert such misfortune from reoccurring.
