The highly anticipated draw for the group stage of Euro 2024 took place on Saturday, December 2, at a UEFA ceremony in Hamburg, Germany. The draw revealed the matchups for next year’s European Championship, which will feature the continent’s top national teams vying for the coveted title.
Host nation Germany will kick off the tournament with a clash against Scotland in Group A, while tournament favorites France face a challenging group of their own in Group D. England and Portugal, two other contenders, were drawn into relatively favorable groups, B and C, respectively.
With three places still to be determined through playoffs in March, the draw also revealed the groups that the playoff winners will be assigned to. The 12 teams vying for those three spots include Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Israel, Luxembourg, Poland, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Iceland, Estonia, and Wales.
