Portugal midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, has fired a friendly warning to his Manchester United teammate, Paul Pogba after France defeated Germany 1-0 in their Euro 2020 opener on Tuesday evening.
Die Mannschaft dominated their opponents but Mats Hummels’ own goal in the 20th minute sealed the win for the reigning world champions in their first game in Group F at the Allianz Arena.
UK Metro reported that Pogba’s impressive performance alongside N’Golo Kante at the heart of France’s midfield earned the United midfielder the man of the match award after the game.
However, upon receiving the awards, Fernandes whose Portuguese side is due to face Pogba’s French side in their final Group F match next Wednesday has a message for his United teammate.
“Happy for you, but MVP only today,” Fernandes wrote his Instagram story, alongside a picture of Pogba in his post-match interview with the message shared with his 4.7m followers.
