EURO 2020: Croatia hold Czech to 1-1 draw

Croatia and the Czech Republic shared the spoils in their second EURO 2020 game after a 1-1 draw at the Hampden Park Stadium in Glasgow Scotland on Friday evening.
The Croatians who were knocked out by Portugal in the round of 16 desperately needed the win against Jaroslav Silhavy’s Czech side which beat Scotland in their opening game.
Silhavy made just one change to his team after their win over Scotland with Holes replacing Kral, while Zlatko Dalic makes two changes to the side that started against England last time out.
Lovren who returned from a knee injury and Brekalo replaced both Caleta-Car and Brozovic.
After over half an hour of the goalless encounter, the VAR awarded a penalty for Czech after Lovren fouled Patrik Schick with few minutes to the end of the first half.
Schick scored the opener with a well-taken penalty, sending Croatia’s goalkeeper, Dominik Livaković the wrong way as he bagged his third goal of the tournament after his brace against Scotland.
Silhavy’s men took the lead into the break with one leg in the last 16 but the Croatians had a plan of their own in mind as Ivan Perišić equalised with just two minutes into the second half.
