Eto’o emerges President of Cameroon Football Federation

Barcelona icon, Samuel Eto’o, has emerged as the new President of the Cameroon Football Federation.

The four-time African Player of the Year defeated rival Seidou Mbombo Njoya to the federation’s top position.

During the announcement at the federation’s General Assembly on Saturday, Eto’o was said to have won a total of 43 votes against Njoya’s 31 votes.

Congratulations have been pouring in for former Inter Milan and Chelsea star on social media.

Reacting to the achievement, Eto’o released a statement admitting he would remember today as one of his proudest moments.

“I’ll be remembering today as one of the proudest moments of my life. I’m deeply grateful to be elected as the new president of @FecafootOfficie.”

The 40-year-old who won two Continental trophies will set his sights on hosting the entire continent next year in the showdown of the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
