Premier League CEO Richard Masters has officially confirmed that a hearing date has been established for the investigation into Manchester City’s Financial Fair Play case.
The charges, comprising 115 breaches of the league’s financial regulations, were leveled against City in February following a comprehensive four-year inquiry spanning nine different seasons, starting from the 2009/2010 campaign.
In an official statement, the league specified that they had referred multiple alleged breaches to an independent commission.
Despite the accusations, Manchester City vehemently maintains their innocence, asserting possession of a substantial body of irrefutable evidence that they believe will vindicate them.
During his appearance before the Culture, Media, and Sport Select Committee, Masters addressed queries about the case.
He acknowledged the progression of the proceedings, stating, “There is a set date for that proceeding; regrettably, I cannot disclose the specific date, but it is advancing. I am unable to provide any additional details about Manchester City, except to confirm that a date for the hearing has been established.”
