Liverpool defeated Watford 2-0 at the Anfield Stadium on Saturday to climb to the top of the Premier League table.
The Reds came into the game trailing defending champions, Manchester City, by one point, having played 29 matches apiece as the race for the most coveted EPL trophy toughens.
Portuguese star, Diogo Jota, found the back of the net with the opener in the 22nd minute as Jurgen Klopp’s men compound the woes of Roy Hodgson’s relegation-threatened side.
Brazilian midfielder, Fabinho, completed the 2-0 win for Liverpool with an 89th-minute penalty to send Klopp’s men top of the summit.
However, City have a chance to return to the top of the summit later today when they face Burnley at the Turf Moor Stadium.
More to come…
