Brighton & Hove Albion inflicted more pain on Tottenham Hotspur with a 3-0 win in the English Premier League match at the American Express Community Stadium on Saturday.

Tottenham yet to recover from Tuesday’s 7-2 loss to German side Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League were dealt another terrible blow by Brighton after failing to score a goal in the three-goal thriller.

Spurs have now conceded 10 goals in their last two games in all competitions; the first time they have done so across two matches since December 1997 (1-6 loss to Chelsea, 0-4 loss to Coventry).

The host took the lead in the third minute with a goal from Neal Maupay, Aaron Connolly added another goal in the 32nd minute before sealing his brace in the 65th minute.

The Brighton fans were heard chanting “We want seven!” after Connolly’s third goal.

Connolly didn’t just add to woes of the UEFA Champions League 2019 finalist, he also made history as the first Irish teenager to score an EPL brace since Robbie Keane for Coventry v Derby in August 1999.
