EPL: Arsenal beat Watford to boost Champions League hope
Arsenal moved into Champions League spot after defeating Watford 3-2 at Vicarage Road on Sunday.
The Gunners survived a late comeback in the five-goal thriller against Roy Hodgson’s relegation-threatened side.
Martin Ødegaard’s fifth-minute opener was cancelled by Cucho Hernández after just six minutes but Bukayo Saka (30′) and Gabriel Martinelli (52′) gave Mikel Arteta’s side a two-goal lead before the hour mark.
With three minutes to go, Moussa Sissoko, made it 3-2 with a brilliant take on and finish but it was not enough to pull a comeback.
Arsenal have won eight of their last 10 games in the Premier League, losing one and drawing one.
They’ve also won four consecutive away games in the Premier League for the second time under Mikel Arteta (also April/May 2021).
The Gunners have now moved pipped Manchester United into fourth with about three games at hand.
United will face defending champions, Manchester City at the Etihad later today.
