The Reds thought they would run away with the three points but their lead was cut short after just five minutes when Alisson went from hero to villain.
The Brazilian made a terrible blunder when he missed his clearance allowing Son Heung-min to level matters (2-2) by tapping the ball into the open net.
Things went from bad to worse for Liverpool three minutes later when Robertson was red-carded for a reckless tackle on Emerson Royal.
The referee initially gave the Scottish skipper a yellow card for the challenge, but upon review on the pitchside monitor, referee Paul Tierney overturned his decision for a red card.
The decision will leave the visitors fuming as Kane escaped a red card in the first half.
Both sides settled for a draw eventually, leaving Liverpool three points behind league leaders Manchester City who thrashed Newcastle United 4-0 earlier on Sunday.
