Enyimba’s first choice goalkeeper, Olorunleke Ojo, has expressed gratitude for his selection in the Super Eagles’ 2023 Africa Cup of Nations squad, dedicating the honor to fellow Nigeria Premier Football League players.
Ojo, the sole local player in the 25-man roster unveiled by coach Jose Peseiro, joins goalkeeping counterparts Stanley Nwabili and Francis Uzoho for the Cote d’Ivoire 2023 tournament.
In an emotional statement to CKD Media, the former Akwa United star acknowledges the support from the media, football pundits, fans, and the Super Eagles’ technical staff. Ojo pledges to give his best if granted the opportunity to play, emphasizing his role as a representative of the NPFL on the AFCON stage.
“I dedicate this inclusion to GOD and all NPFL players,” Ojo affirms. The Super Eagles kick off their preparations for the competition in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, starting January 2, 2024.
