Enyimba Football Club on Saturday beat Kano Pillars 2–1 in a thrilling Nigeria Premier Football League match played at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.

Joseph Atule gave the home side the lead in the 35th minute after a well-placed finish.

Former Super Eagles striker, Brown Ideye, increased the lead just three minutes into the second half with a powerful strike that beat the goalkeeper.

The visitors, Kano Pillars, responded by pushing forward and creating several chances in the second half.

Enyimba’s goalkeeper, Ani Ozoemena, made a brilliant save in the 71st minute to deny Pillars a goal. But the pressure paid off in the 81st minute when Naibe Akpesiri scored to give the away team hope.

Despite late efforts from Pillars to level the match, Enyimba held on to secure the win.

With this result, Enyimba continue their good run at home, while Pillars will look to bounce back in their next game.
