Enugu Rangers clinches NPFL champions for record eighth time

Enugu Rangers International Football Club has been crowned champions of the 2023/2024 Nigerian Premier Football League. This marks the club’s eighth NPFL title, a record achievement.
The Flying Antelopes secured their victory with a 2-0 win over Bendel Insurance in Enugu on Sunday. The goals were scored by Kenechukwu Agu and Chidiebere Nwobodo, propelling Rangers to an unassailable 67 points at the top of the table.
Rangers’ closest rivals, Remo Stars and Enyimba, both suffered defeats. Remo Stars lost 2-1 to Sunshine Stars in the South West derby in Akure, while Enyimba was defeated 2-1 by Sporting Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan.
Rangers’ head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, expressed his joy over the victory, saying, “We worked hard all season, and this title is a testament to the dedication and effort of the entire team.”
With 67 points from 37 games, Enugu Rangers have firmly secured their place at the top of the NPFL standings, celebrating a remarkable season and their record eighth championship title.
